Heavy, oily vintage leathers are a timeless choice. Often they will be vegetable skins, i.e. those that have been tanned with natural vegetable tannins in a traditional, ancient way. Due to the natural nature of the tannins, the color palette is not extreme, but nevertheless it can surprise you with the intensity of orange or the fullness of brown. It is worth getting acquainted with the vegetable tanned leathers offered by manufacturers, because apart from deeply reaching traditions, there are also very high technical parameters. Vegetable tanned leathers are characterized by high breathability, smoothness and good grip. They are usually stiff and thick leather, used in the production of saddles, belts or vintage bags.

After tanning leather (chrome, chrome-free or vegetable), the leather is dyed. It consists in applying a dye to the skin, which is absorbed by it. After the pigment has been absorbed by the skin, any excess paint has to be rinsed off. The next step is to apply the paint again, but this time darker. The surface, or pigment, dyeing is listed. It consists in additionally dyeing the skin layer with a color based on a pigment, which at the same time protects the skin surface. Skin dyed on the surface is easy to recognize - a drop of water applied to this type of dyeing will remain on the surface of the skin.
Every season, the best colors are selected and announced, which will reign on the catwalks, in showrooms and at our home. Muted Violet, gracefully dubbed Veri Peri by the famous graphics brand Pantone, is the clear favorite this season. However, apart from purple, there are many other interesting variants - bottle green, dark vintage orange or fuchsia. The leather industry bravely follows trends, and often sets them too!
